Welcome to Gorillas class! Our class team consists of Miss Morison (Class Teacher), Mrs Perkins (Classroom Support Professional) and Miss Perkins (Classroom Support Professional).
English
In English we are currently exploring the book ‘The True Story of the Three Little Pigs’. We will be working towards writing a narrative from another character’s perspective within a traditional fairy tale. We will be revisiting our learning on fronted adverbials and direct speech, whilst also learning about the present perfect tense to make our writing entertaining for the audience.
In reading, we will use ‘Expert Tips’ reading skills to answer questions on a range of fiction and non-fiction texts.
Maths
In Maths this half term, we are currently learning about multiplication and division, learning our 3, 4 and 8-times tables. We will then move onto length and perimeter, fractions and mass/capacity.
In Science, we are learning about rocks and soils.
In Art, we will be exploring the artist William Morris and using a range of printing techniques to create our final piece.
In PE, we will be building our skills in gymnastics and outdoor adventure games.
In Computing, we will be learning about online safety and how to program using Scratch.
In RE, we will be learning about Islam, specifically ‘How do festivals and worship show what matters to a Muslim?’
In French, we will be introduced to French playground games, numbers and age.
In PSHE, we will be looking at safety and the changing body.
