Welcome to Gorillas class! Our class team consists of Miss Morison (Class Teacher), Miss Perkins (Classroom Support Professional), Mrs Ashmead (1:1 Classroom Support Professional).
English
In English we are currently exploring the book ‘Can I Build Another Me’ by Shinsuke Yoshitake. We will be developing our descriptive writing skills through using adjectives to develop expanded noun phrases, selecting vocabulary for its effectiveness and assessing and editing our work.
In reading, we will use ‘Expert Tips’ reading skills to answer questions on a range of fiction and non-fiction texts. Specifically, we will be focusing on our class text to help build further understanding.
Maths
In Maths this half term, we are currently learning about place value up to 1000, where we are focusing on representing and partitioning numbers. We will continue to work hard on our times tables, focusing on building our fluency in the x2/x5/x10 times tables.

Foundation Subjects
In Science, we will be learning about plants.
In Art, we will be exploring the artist Frida Kahlo and we will create self-portraits inspired by her work!
In PE, we will be building our skills in football and swimming.
In Computing, we will be learning about online safety and understanding how networks work.
In DT, we are learning how to create a balanced meal and will be cooking our own soup!
In French, we will be exploring French greetings.
