Welcome

A very warm welcome to our website and thank you for your interest in Honeybourne Primary School.

Honeybourne is a happy, nurturing school with an inclusive ethos where every child is valued, without discrimination on the grounds of gender, ethnicity, culture or disability. We want children to enjoy school, and we work in partnership with parents to enable children to reach their full potential, both academically and socially.

We have around 200 pupils between the ages of 4 and 11, plus our nursery welcomes children aged 2 to 4 years old.

Alongside ensuring we provide high quality education and care for all our pupils, one of our key drivers is to ensure that we are the ‘school of choice’ for all families and children in our catchment area. We have 30 places per year group, including provision for pupils in Year 6. All pupils registered in school therefore will automatically be entitled to a Year 6 place here; no further application is needed.

‘Turning Potential Into Success’

Our school motto is ‘turning potential into success’ and through a broad, balanced and varied curriculum, we aim to build pupils’ self-esteem and confidence, broaden their experiences and nurture and challenge their skills. This supports every child to become happy, independent learners, keen to discover more about their world. Excellent activities enrich the curriculum within and beyond the school day.

Our Staff

Our staff are dedicated to children’s education and have high expectations for all; we take pride in knowing each and every child as an individual. We believe in inspiring children to achieve well in all that they do and in nurturing their talents. It is the key in developing resilience and building their confidence which will enable them to develop and flourish.

Our Nursery

Whilst run by the school, our nursery has its own manager and is managed independently, therefore the catchment area policy does not apply. Please enquire directly to the Nursery Manager regarding the availability of sessions throughout the year.

In all other ways, our nursery is very much a part of the school with the children having the benefit of a cooked lunch if required and eating in the school hall with all the other children. Nursery children also make great use of the school grounds and facilities. Our nursery page will give you more information but please email us if you can’t find what you are looking for.

Our Classes

Within this website you will find all the information you will need about our school. Please check regularly as information is updated frequently. Each class has its own page as a way to keep parents up to date with their child’s learning and curriculum coverage for the weeks ahead. Our curriculum section provides a wealth of information including subject unit overviews, progression routes and information about how we teach across the range of subjects on offer.

Working Together

We hold a number of events each year, providing opportunities to meet with our parents and discuss the building of a successful partnership. I am looking forward to working with you all to continue to build a school with excellent and innovative teaching and learning, and to provide our children with every opportunity to turn potential into success.
