School Dinners & Packed Lunches

Our school lunches are provided by Miquill, who deliver them daily from Blackminster. The Miquill menus are on a three-week cycle. Bookings should be made via Parent Pay for both paid lunches and free school meals. Bookings for the week must be made by the Thursday of the proceeding week.

All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are currently eligible to receive free school meals. Some older children are also entitled to free school meals.

Children who are not entitled to free school meals may still purchase a school lunch.

Entitlement to Free School Meals

Your child might be able to get free school meals if you get any of the following:

  • Income Support
  • Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • The guaranteed element of Pension Credit
  • Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
  • Working Tax Credit run-on – paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
  • Universal Credit

If you think your child is entitled to free school meals, you can make an application by going to www.worcestershire.gov.uk/council-services/childrens-services/schools-education-and-learning/free-school-meals

Packed Lunches

Children may choose to bring lunch from home. Lunch boxes and flasks should be clearly marked with the child’s name and class.

Parents should aim for a packed lunch to be healthy in order to provide children with a balanced diet. A balanced diet is about eating lots of different foods to get the nutrients you need, and it’s sometimes hard to get that variety into children’s lunchboxes.
