Over the last few weeks the children have been busy voting for various committees including
safeguarding committee, Unicef, eco-council and school council. Many meetings have been held and
the children have contributed superbly with their ideas and recommendations for improving school
life.
Following our announcement last week about peer mentors on the gate, they can now be recognised
by their red caps. Georgia and Noah carried out a health and safety audit, with the Chair of
Governors, around the school and identified a list of actions which have now been put into place.
The eco-council have successfully been awarded a grant for improving the forest school area and
have already met to discuss how this will be spent. Hedgehog houses, bug hotels, bird boxes, a
butterfly shelter and a bee hotel as well as some animal seating have all been ordered and delivered.
Our Unicef committee were tasked with designing a new logo. Three winners were voted by the
school so designs were incorporated together – well done to Sam, Annabelle and Zara for their
contribution to the newsletter logo above. A huge well done to all other entries.
