Year 6 – Rhinos

Autumn Term 2024:

I hope that you all are looking forward to the year ahead! Miss Woolford is the class teacher and Mrs Lima-Smith is the classroom support professional.

We have some enthralling topics to learn about this year. We will be reading the books ‘The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse’. We will be using this book and ‘Harry Potter’ as inspiration for our writing; we will be reading the text and watching the film in order to immerse ourselves.

In Maths, we will begin by recapping Y5 arithmetic content, followed by place value which involves becoming confident with numbers up to 10,000,000. We will be practicing our skills of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Towards the end of the term will be focusing on fractions and converting units.
